TEAM KICKALOB U12 participated in the Piala Waga 2009 tournament organised by Akademi PKNS FC in Kuala Lumpur on 12 December 2009. Our squad, captained by Tawfiq, was represented by Marcel, Adli, Aniq, Hazeeq, Max, Shawn, Carlos, Iqmal, Awi, Haziq, Ricky, Soffian & Ryan. There were 12 teams divided into 4 groups; with us in group A were KDFC & UKRC. Our 1st match vs KDFC was a big letdown.....we lost 0-1 because of nerves!! In our 2nd match, we did much better and threw everything at UKRC but couldn't convert the numerous chances that came our way.....it ended 0-0 & so ended TEAM KICKALOB U12's campaign.Overall, TEAM KICKALOB U12 players must be commended for the way they played, cheered & encouraged each other on despite the odds stacked against us. There was not much difference in the standard of play but we lack the composure & competitive exposure which our opponents were exposed to every weekend (our opponents had participated in the recently-concluded National Junior League).
