SELECTED TO REPRESENT SARAWAK U19 SQUAD

Two of our Project K2015 boys - HAFIEZULHISYAM ROSLEE and NURHIRMAN TONI - have been selected to represent Sarawak in the forthcoming Piala Belia U19 national tournament to be held in Melaka from 16 to 23 August 2014.  

Very sad for our club as Periuk (as Hisyam is fondly known) and Dol (as Nurhirman is fondly known) have been with us since they were 13 years old and they were both our first 11 players.  But then again, we must rejoice as our objective of producing players for Sarawak is bearing fruit.  We are confident that there will be more to come through our grapevine in the near future.

UPDATE: LIGA MINI BOLASEPAK B19T SAMARAHAN

Yes, we made it to the Final.  Our boys played well in the Semis, controlled the match, had numerous chances but only scrapped through on penalties.  Our boys must be commended for their efforts - a lot of positives in this match but the few negatives must be corrected or they may cause damage to us in the Final.

Final is set for 9 February 2013 at Stadium Mini Samarahan against Serpan Warriors.  Kickoff is at 3:30pm.

UPDATE: LIGA MINI BOLASEPAK B19T SAMARAHAN 2012

26 January 2013 - that's the date set for our semi-final clash against Kapaku FC.  It will be good to see our boys turn the tables against Kapaku FC after we lost to them in the prelims 0-2.  Of course, Kapaku FC will also have something to prove - that their win wasn't a fluke.  So that would set it up to make it a good match!!  See you at PULAPOL.  Kick-off 8:00am.

UPDATE: LIGA MINI BOLASEPAK B19T SAMARAHAN 2012

Defeated Serpan Warriors on penalties so we took 2 points.  Next match will be this Saturday against Kapaku FC at 10:00am at KS PULAPOL.  

Take note that only 4 teams are taking part so the fixtures announced in an earlier posting are null and void.  Matches are now held on every Saturday until the final on 26 January 2013.

Joint 3rd/4th was the best result we could do but overall, it was a good effort.  We topped our group in the prelims but lost to the eventual champions 0-4 in the semis.  Again, our own mistakes led to our downfall.  So many positives in the semi-final match undone by 2 mistakes. 

Anyway, next tournament will be the Liga Mini Bolasepak Bawah 19 Tahun Samarahan 2012 which is tentatively scheduled for end-December 2012.

PIALA PUSINGAN PENGARAH YAYASAN SARAWAK 2012

Yes, we are the Champions!!  Yes, we defeated the home team (Yayasan All Stars) with all of its star-studded players!!  Yes, our players played well, did what was instructed according to our game plan.  Yes, our boys' parents were ecstatic, happy, overjoyed. 

But through all this euphoria, we must not forget that our boys are still learning and this win must not be allowed to overpower their minds which will lead to complacency and inflated egos. This is the reason why we have decided to send some of our boys to attend training with our state's U21 squad so that they realise that they still have a long way to go before becoming a complete player.  They also will see what is required of them to play at that level.  We have to admit it that our boys have nothing to prove anymore at the U16 level.  No, not because we are gloating because we are champions of this tournament but because this tournament has shown that our boys have matured as far as their ages have permitted them to do so.  Now they have to strive to achieve goals at a higher level and they need to drive harder, stronger, more than ever before.  

Now, this is development, Kickalob's way.

PIALA PUSINGAN PENGARAH YAYASAN SARAWAK 2012

"When the going gets tough, the tough gets going" goes the saying and that best described our Team K16 over the past 2 weekends.  We made life difficult for ourselves by losing 0-1 to Yayasan Dream Team in the opening match.  Then we beat Ocean Eagle Samarahan FC 3-0 before having to beat White Tiger FC 2-1 to earn the right to play in the semifinals.  We managed to go through to the final by beating Josephians FC 4-0 although it was a difficult match for a few of our players as they were studying at St Joseph's.  

In the final on Sunday (4 November - kickoff 4pm), we will be up against Yayasan All Star.  They are favourites to win the tournament as it is their tournament.  Furthermore, we have a few key players down with injuries making them doubtful for the match.  We may even have to play Felister as a striker!!  But then again, the players' spirits are high, their confidence pumped up after the win against White Tiger FC.  It is going to be hard work if we were to win this.

The U16 tournament will kickoff on 20 November 2012.  8 teams will participate and we are in Group A together with Yayasan Sarawak Dream Team, Ocean Eagle Samarahan and White Tiger.  Our Team K16 will play in the opening match against Yayasan Sarawak Dream Team at 8:00am on 20 October 2012.  All matches will be played at Padang Yayasan Sarawak.

UPDATE: BORNEO INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL CUP 2012

It has been quite a while since my last posting.  After the debacle in Kota Kinabalu, I did not dare post anything just in case I say the wrong things. But now I am able to do this as I believe I have analysed and rationalised through the whole situation.

We did not achieve our target of finishing among the top 2 due to 2 reasons - horrendous officiating and players fatigue.  For those who were with us in Kota Kinabalu, they saw how bad the officiating standard was.  Last year, the organiser had the services of a few Singaporean officials but this year, maybe for budgetary reasons, only Sabah officials were used.  Enough said on that. 

The second reason had to do with the number of tournaments our key players were involved in before going to Sabah.  Our players must learn how to prioritise the tournaments they want to play in so that they are able to tune their energy and mental level accordingly.  No player in this world can play and go all out in every match.  The body has its limits and it is high time the players learn how to respect their bodies; otherwise, they will get burnt out or worse still, permanent injuries will happen!!  Enough said on that.

Now we shift our focus towards Piala Yayasan Sarawak which will start on 20 October 2012.  Life goes on.

UPDATE: BORNEO INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL CUP 2012

We will start the final phase of our training for Borneo International Football Cup 2012 on 23 August.  Although players will still be in Raya mood, we cannot afford to waste time as the tournament is less than 4 weeks away.  Our training will be further curbed as there will be a few players who will be away representing their Divisions and schools in Piala Emas (3-8 Septemebr) and Piala Pembangunan (18-20 Sept) respectively.

Only 18 players with the highest degree of SELF-DISCIPLINE will be on that plane to Kota Kinabalu.  Training starts this Saturday and Sunday 4:30pm-5:45pm at Telekom. 

FINAL UPDATE: PIALA DATUK BANDAR 2012 - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!

We did it - our coaches, our players, our supporters and of course, our opponents and their supporters which pushed us to become champions.  Sometimes adversity works in the opposite direction and this was one of the factors that spurred us on.  In addition to that, we had 3 main tactical strategies - win the ball quickly at all times, attack with speed and score at least 1 goal quickly in the first 10 minutes.  We did all that!!  What can I say about Syifa's wonder strike from 40m out in the 1st minute of the match and then Helmy's cool and composed finish for our 2nd goal!! Kudos to White Tiger FC for pushing us all the way.  It was a good and exciting match with all the drama needed to make it a final to remember.

But through this euphoria of becoming champions, we must not lose sight of our objectives and there are still a lot of things that our players need to improve on.  And this will take discipline, hardwork and dedication from each and everyone.  We cannot become complacent and rest on our laurels!!

UPDATE: PIALA DATUK BANDAR 2012

Our Team Kickalob K14 will be playing against Villa United FC on Sunday (15 July 2012) in the 1st semi-final match (8:30am).  If we lose, we will be playing in the 3rd/4th Placing match at 3:30pm.  If we win, we will play in the Championship Match at 4:30pm.

We ended up in 2nd place at the end of the preliminary round which saw White Tiger FC coming out tops.  Our players ran out of steam in the last match against White Tiger FC after giving their all in the earlier match against Villa United FC.  But kudos to the players who never gave up and played their hearts out.

Let us all go to Jubilee Ground this Sunday and give our Team Kickalob K14 our undivided support.  And if you do come, please BEHAVE!!  We do not want to be like supporters of another team which were booing us when we were singing the state anthem.  That was very shameful considering that this is an age group competition and children seeing adults behave without any manners whatsoever.

UPDATE: LIGA SAMARAHAN 2012

Our Team Kickalob K2015 lost narrowly 0-1 to Marr SC Akjaemura in our last league game.  We finished 8th among the 10 teams and we achieved our target of collecting 5 points.  There's the Piala Residen 2012 tournament to look forward to and this will be held in October 2012.

UPDATE: PIALA DATUK BANDAR 2012

2 matches played over the weekend.  Our Team Kickalob K14 won both but the performances of our team in both matches were still not up to par, particularly where attacking speed was concerned and major defensive lapses in concentration.  Controlling any game is good but fruitful controlling of the game is what matters,  We must know what to do when we have the ball, we must know how to exploit our opponents' weaknesses when we have the ball, we must know where our teammates are before we receive the ball, we must know where to run to when we don't have the ball to create space for our teammate who has the ball , we must know what we want to do with the ball before we receive the ball, we must have options ready before we receive the ball just in case our initial plan has been blocked by our opponents, we must know where our opponents are whether they have the ball or not.  All these require quick brains - we cannot be slow when making decisions.  Football is an easy game unless we make it hard for ourselves.   

Anyway, we defeated Duraclean - SMK Bandar Kuching No 2 3-0 and we defeated Iskfit - SMK Bakjo 4-1.  On Sunday, we will be up against Villa United FC (3:00pm) and White Tiger FC (5:00pm).  We are currently 2nd in the standings and 3 points from the 2 matches should confirm our semi-final ticket.

UPDATE: PIALA DATUK BANDAR 2012

Our Team Kickalob K14 started off this year's campaign with a 0-1 loss to MBKS.  This was a game which we controlled but could not convert the chances that came our way.  We played hard and intelligently, hit the posts several times and had a few easy goalscoring chances but luck was not on our side.

We defeated Kapaku - Bintang 3-0 in our 2nd game.  In this match, we took our chances well and that's why we managed to collect the 3 points.  It was a match which we had to win in order not let our morale slipped further.

Now we are lying 3rd in the standings behind White Tiger FC (5 points) and MBKS (4 points).  We are up against the pre-tournament favourites Iskfit - SMK Bako on Saturday and then against Duraclean - SMK Bandar Kuching No 2 on Sunday.  Basically, all the teams are equal in strength so it's hard to tell which way these 2 matches are going to go.  The bottom line is that we play to our strengths, contain our weaknesses and win the ball at all times - only that will ensure victory!!

UPDATE: LIGA SAMARAHAN 2012

It was the best game that our Team Kickalob K2015 had played in this season's Liga Samarahan.  The boys can be proud of themselves by drawing 3-3 with Landas 8D, a team consisting of league veterans.  Although the point earned did not change our standing in the league table, it did, however, helped our team to achieve the target set  for this season - to earn 5 points.  

Our last league match will be against Marr SC Akjaemura on 07 July 2012.

EXHIBITION MATCH IN PICHIN

It was pleasant to see that our Team Borneo Cup are on track in our preparations.  This is not because we won the match against Pichin U16 but because our boys played the way they have been trained to play all this while.  Since Borneo Cup 2011, we have not had a proper same-age match to gauge the progress of our players.  Let's continue to improve and not get complacent with this win.

UPDATE: BOLA SAMARAHAN 2012

We lost to PULAPOL 1-2 last Sunday.  Same reason - both PULAPOL goals came in the last 15 minutes of each half.  As I have said many times to our players, we are 30-minute team due to lack of fitness.  When our fitness level is low, we lose concentration and focus.  When we lose concentration and focus, we lose the game.  It is as simple as that.  

Anyway, we have 2 matches remaining - against Landas 8D and Marr SC Akjaemura.  We are currently lying 8th in the league table.

PIALA DATUK BANDAR 2012

We will be finalising our K14 squad to participate in the Pertandingan Bola Sepak Remaja Piala Datuk Bandar 2012 which is expected to be helod from 23 June 2012 to 7 July 2012.  This is an annual tournament jointly organised by us and MBKS in conjunction with Kuching Fest. The matches will be held at Jubilee Ground.

Last year, we made it to the semi-finals.  We are always hopeful that we can do better but we must remember that winning is not the primary objective when we participate.  This will also be the stage where our U14s will have to impress us coaches to be roped into our Borneo Cup 2012 squad which will be going to Kota Kinabalu in late September.

EXHIBITION MATCH AT PIALA DATUK RICHARD RIOT

Our Borneo Cup K16 squad have been invited by the organisers of Piala Datuk Richard Riot to play an exhibition match against Serian U16 Selection this Sunday at Kampung Pichin in Serian.  It is an honour to be given this recognition as there are many other U16 teams which they could have invited.  This will be a test for for Borneo Cup squad to see how much they have progressed against a team of the same age.

UPDATE - LIGA SAMARAHAN 2012

We lost to Abadas-10RRD last weekend 1-2.  Nothing to be ashamed of because our team played well considering that our opponents had 6 ex-ATM President Cuppers in their team and we were playing at their home ground.  We started off very well by leading 1-0 at halftime.  But as usual, due to lack of fitness, we caved in in the latter stages of the match. 

Our next match will be against PULAPOL on 26 May 2012 at Kem Muara Tuang,

We lost 1-2 to Peneroka FC two Saturdays ago and then lost to PBN20 0-4 last Saturday.  Team Kickalob K2015 is currently 6th in the standings.

NEW TERM 02/2012

Last Sunday marked the 1st session for our Term 02/2012.  It was very encouraging to note that so many new Kickies turned up to join our Academy.  On the other hand, we are currently short of coaches which we are trying very hard to overcome.  It is not easy to find coaches who are truly committed - some may be good players in their heydays but this does not necessarily translate into being a good coach.  Educating children is something which has to be done with passion, belief and perseverance.

PIALA FA 2012 - MARR SC AKJAEMURA VS TEAM KICKALOB K2015

Our Team Kickalob K2015 last 3-5 to last year's FA Champions Marr SC Akjaemura last weekend.  It was a game which was played in heavy rain making the pitch almost impossible to play on.  Nevertheless, under these circumstances, experience counts and that was what Marr SC Akjaemura had which our players did not.  Despite leading 2-0 after 20 minutes of play, we did not know how to safeguard a lead.  This is part of the learning process which our boys have to learn quickly - both mentally and physically.

Our next league game will be on 01 May 2012 against Peneroka FC at SMK Asajaya No 2 in Tamirat.  Kickoff is at 3:30pm.

UPDATE: BOLA SAMARAHAN 2012

Our Team Kickalob K2015 defeated Kapaku FC 5-0 last weekend. It was our 1st win in Liga Samarahan after coming so close in the last 2 matches. The boys played well and key to the win was that they played to instructions. However, there were a few bad habits which we would need to overcome quickly in order for us to play better and more intelligent football. Nevertheless, the boys worked really hard to win this game despite the wet and soggy pitch. We hope that we can carry this momentum into our next match this Saturday against last season's Piala FA champions Marr SC Akjaemura in the Piala FA. Match kicks off at 3:00pm at PULAPOL.

U10 CHAMPIONS OF PIALA REMAJA AXIS FC 2012

Asyraaf, Acap, Kai, Zul Azmi, Danish, Azim, Irfan Baby, Asfarahan and Azree - these were our players who were Champions in the U10 age group of Piala Remaja Axis FC 2012 two weekends ago. We lost 1 match in the group stages but we beat the same team in the final when we got our tactics right. Our boys played well despite the heat but obviously they have a long way to go to be good footballers. But for now, let us all celebrate this win together. Congrats boys!!
