We lost 1-2 to Peneroka FC two Saturdays ago and then lost to PBN20 0-4 last Saturday.  Team Kickalob K2015 is currently 6th in the standings.

Our next match is against Abadas-10RRD on Sunday at Tamirat.

NEW TERM 02/2012

Last Sunday marked the 1st session for our Term 02/2012.  It was very encouraging to note that so many new Kickies turned up to join our Academy.  On the other hand, we are currently short of coaches which we are trying very hard to overcome.  It is not easy to find coaches who are truly committed - some may be good players in their heydays but this does not necessarily translate into being a good coach.  Educating children is something which has to be done with passion, belief and perseverance.

PIALA FA 2012 - MARR SC AKJAEMURA VS TEAM KICKALOB K2015

Our Team Kickalob K2015 last 3-5 to last year's FA Champions Marr SC Akjaemura last weekend.  It was a game which was played in heavy rain making the pitch almost impossible to play on.  Nevertheless, under these circumstances, experience counts and that was what Marr SC Akjaemura had which our players did not.  Despite leading 2-0 after 20 minutes of play, we did not know how to safeguard a lead.  This is part of the learning process which our boys have to learn quickly - both mentally and physically.

Our next league game will be on 01 May 2012 against Peneroka FC at SMK Asajaya No 2 in Tamirat.  Kickoff is at 3:30pm.

UPDATE: BOLA SAMARAHAN 2012

Our Team Kickalob K2015 defeated Kapaku FC 5-0 last weekend. It was our 1st win in Liga Samarahan after coming so close in the last 2 matches. The boys played well and key to the win was that they played to instructions. However, there were a few bad habits which we would need to overcome quickly in order for us to play better and more intelligent football. Nevertheless, the boys worked really hard to win this game despite the wet and soggy pitch. We hope that we can carry this momentum into our next match this Saturday against last season's Piala FA champions Marr SC Akjaemura in the Piala FA. Match kicks off at 3:00pm at PULAPOL.

U10 CHAMPIONS OF PIALA REMAJA AXIS FC 2012

Asyraaf, Acap, Kai, Zul Azmi, Danish, Azim, Irfan Baby, Asfarahan and Azree - these were our players who were Champions in the U10 age group of Piala Remaja Axis FC 2012 two weekends ago. We lost 1 match in the group stages but we beat the same team in the final when we got our tactics right. Our boys played well despite the heat but obviously they have a long way to go to be good footballers. But for now, let us all celebrate this win together. Congrats boys!!

PIALA REMAJA AXIS FC

Our K10 and K12 teams (yeah! yaeh! yeah!) will take part in Piala Remaja Axis FC this Saturday 24 March 2012 at Padang Perumahan. The carnival-format tournament is expected to kick-off at 8:00am.

Don't know how many teams are taking part but our teams will be there. All we want is for our Kickies to have fun, fun, fun..winning is not a priority!! That is what development is all about.

UPDATE: BOLA SAMARAHAN 2012

We lost to Team Boss 0-1 because we failed to believe in ourselves in the 1st half. This resulted in our players giving our opponents too much respect and giving them space to monkey us around. We played much much much better in the 2nd half and we managed to pin them down in their own half but we were just unlucky not to score.

UPDATE: BOLA SAMARAHAN 2012

Our Team Kickalob K2015 managed to pull off a draw against Serpan Warriors last weekend. However, it was 2 points lost rather than 1 point gained. We lost our shape in the last 15 minutes which enabled our opponents to equalise too easily.

BOLA SAMARAHAN MUSIM 2012

The 2012 season started off last Sunday where Team K2015 played against Marr SC Akjaemura in the Piala Sumbangsih in Asajaya. We lost 0-4 but the scoreline didn't do justice to the performance from our players. Our boys played well enough to win the match but we lacked the match temperament and experience to grab the numerous chances that came our way. Nevertheless, it was a good start to the season and we are confident that we can pull off a few surprises against the other teams

A number of decisions have been made by our Directors pertaining to our operations to ensure that we become more efficient in Kickalob's administration so that obstacles along the way towards achieving our dream can be handled effectively. PIALA RESIDEN SAMARAHAN 2011

Our Team K2015 came out joint 3rd/4th in the recent Piala Residen Samarahan 2011 held in Asajaya on 30 October 2011. In the 1st round played on a round-robin system, we lost to Johan FC 0-1 but we managed to beat the eventual champions Khatulistiwa FC 2-1 to edge out Johan FC on goal difference to make the semi-finals. However, in the semi-finals, we were beaten by KSK Asajaya 0-2. I guess it was expecting too much of our boys to win that match and make the final considering we only had 4 senior players in the squad while the rest were 16 years and below.

Anyway, joint 3rd/4th is a good place to be. It can be seen that our boys are slowly maturing but there are still a few who would need to be spoken to. These are players who have not shown much improvement over the year and if they don't change their attitude, they could drag the team down with them. Overall, I am proud to say that we are on track with our KICKALOB DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE with this team.

BORNEO INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL CUP 2011

vs Football Regional West (Australia) drew 1-1

vs Spartans FC (Kuala Lumpur) won 2-0

vs KK Rovers (Sabah) won 1-0

vs Ty Sports Academy (Korea) drew 1-1

vs Soccerkix Academy (Labuan) won 3-2 (penalties)

We have achieved our target of finishing in the top 4 in this tournament by placing 3^rd. It was a tournament of the highest quality which, according to the tournament organizers, was better participated than last year. We could see that Kickalob have managed to close the gap in playing standard with the other teams. We even managed to hold the repeat champions Ty Sports Academy from Korea to a draw. We had to beat the Koreans to gain top spot in our group but they scored against us 4 minutes from time to gain that precious point to top our group. It was rather unfortunate that the tournament does not have crossover semi-finals; the players were confident that we could go all the way to win the tournament!! Players who received special mention - Syazani, Faez, Fiffy, Alexs, Shahrol, Zuhairi.

The most important improvement was our ability to instill into our players the spirit of “Agi Idup, Agi Ngelaban” which was missing in last year’s tournament. Our team received plenty of compliments and praises from the other teams for the fighting spirit and positional commitment of each of our players. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of work to be done in order for us to further close that gap. We cannot be complacent with what we have achieved and the work must continue vigorously with undivided commitment from our coaches, players and their parents.

We must be proud of this achievement because our U16 squad is made up predominantly of players 15 years in below. People may question why we should be proud of 3rd place; to me, it's not so much as getting 3rd place but more because of the way we achieved it:

* our players were more cohesive in attacking and denfending

* our players were not intimidated by our opponents' size and style of play

* our players were full of the "agi idup, agi ngelaban" fighting spirit

* our players were able to execute our game plans despite being overcome by fatigue (they played 5 matches in 3 days)

* our players showed more maturity (compared to last year) in the way they approach each match

Because of this, we should be going to Kota Kinabalu next year with a more matured squad.

Last but not least, the highest appreciation is in order for our coaches who have given their highest commitment to Kickalob’s vision. Our coaches – Awang Azami, Rosli Akup, Saiful Bahri Beli, Syazwan Heikle Bakry – have done this over the past 3 years on a voluntary basis and this must be applauded.

JU CELEBRATES HER 41ST BIRTHDAY

PIALA DATUK BANDAR 2011

Congratulations to both of our Team K12 and Team K14 for their participation in the recent Piala Datuk Bandar 2011. Although we did not win the title, we must be proud of our achievement as we fielded our very own home-grown players. It irks me very much that even for age group tournaments such as this one, there are some teams which would rather aim for status and ego-fulfilling achievements by "using" players from all over. It defeats the purpose of football development whereby we are supposed to provide opportunities for players to grow and learn. There will be some people who will say that I am a sore loser but the fact remains that in football development, winning must be made a secondary objective.

Congratulations also to our Derick Tsai who won the Bronze Star Award for being the 3rd best player in the tournament. This award was judged based on accumulative points given by coaches and match officials after every match so Derick won this based of merit and not favouritism from the Organisers of which I was the Tournament Director.

CHANGES IN SESSION DATES

Please take note of the changes in our session dates. We have had to do this to accommodate our involvement in Pertandingan Bolasepak Samarahan 2011 and also the upcoming Pertandingan Bolasepak Remaja Piala Datuk Bandar 2011 (for our Team K14 and Team K12) which is scheduled for 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th July 2011 at Jubilee Ground in Kuching.

LIGA BOLASEPAK SAMARAHAN 2011 - FINAL UPDATE

The youngest team in the tournament with an average age of 15.8 years old - our Team K2015 - was placed 7th out of 11 teams in the Liga Bolasepak Samarahan 2011 which had its final match last weekend. Coach Awang Ismail was at Stadium Mini Samarahan to collect our prize together with my daughter, Kateja Aba.
Next will be the Piala FA which will kick-off this weekend. Our Team K2015 will be up against the league champions, Khatulistiwa, at Stadium Mini Asajaya.
